Netanya

A view of our hotel, King Solomon Hotel, from the Mediterranean shore.

We arrived in Tel Aviv around 3:20pm local time with very little sleep and lots to see! We met our tour guide and bus driver and hit the road to Netanya, where we would spend the night.

Our tour guide, Habib, is an Arab Christian from East Jerusalem and the first thing he said to our group when he met us was, “welcome home”. He said we aren’t coming to Israel for the first time, but returning. It was a very warm welcome.

We had dinner and then went for a walk on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. We didn’t have time for a lot, but I’m sure we’ll have a full day tomorrow. Rest assured, I did have time to fully submerge myself in the Mediterranean Sea!

The history of this area is rich, and I’ll be sure to recall it for you tomorrow when I’ve had more sleep! Good night!

Oh yeah… Something interesting about this place that I never would have expected: there are cats everywhere. There are about as many stray cats as people walking around.

That’s all for tonight. See ya tomorrow!
